Privacy policy

We're a small NZ seed company, and we treat your personal information the way we'd want ours treated. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. We comply with the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you place an order, create an account, or sign up to our emails, we collect what we need to serve you: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number, and order history. Payment details are handled by PayPal and never stored by us.

How we use it

We use your information to process and deliver your orders, respond to your questions, and, if you've opted in, send you emails about new varieties, growing tips, and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in every email.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the services that keep the shop running: Shopify (our store platform), PayPal (payment processing), Klaviyo (our email platform), and NZ Post (to deliver your seeds). Each only receives what they need to do their job.

We do not sell customer information. Full stop.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we use providers whose safeguards are comparable to those required under NZ privacy law.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make the shop work properly, remember your cart, and understand how people use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser, though parts of the site (like checkout) may not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for seven years to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations. Marketing data is kept while you're subscribed and removed if you unsubscribe and ask us to delete it.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to the records we're legally required to keep). Email admin@ignitionseeds.co.nz and we'll sort it, usually within a few working days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
